WHAT ARE THE APOCRYPHA?

The Biblical Apocrypha (from the Greek ἀπόκρυφος, apókruphos, meaning "hidden") denotes the collection of ancient books found, in some editions of the Bible, in a separate section between the Old and New Testaments or as an appendix after the New Testament.

The Apocrypha refer to texts which are left out of officially sanctioned versions ('canon') of the Bible. The term means 'things hidden away,' which implies secret or esoteric literature. However, none of these texts were ever considered secret.

In some Protestant Bibles, they are placed between the New and Old Testament. In the Roman Catholic Bibles the books are interspersed with the rest of the text. In this case they are also called 'Deuterocanonical', which means 'secondary canon.' The books on this page are all Deuterocanonical.

Jerome rejected the Deuterocanonical books when he was translating the Bible into Latin circa 450 CE, (see the Vulgate). This was because no Hebrew version of these texts could be found, even though they were present in the Greek Old Testament (the Septuagint). However, they eventually were accepted by the Church, and most of them remained part of the Bible. Protestants rejected these books during the Reformation as lacking divine authority. They either excised them completely or placed them in a third section of the Bible. The Roman Catholic Council of Trent, on the other hand, declared in 1546 that the Deuterocanonical books were indeed divine.

Of these books, Tobias, Judith, the Wisdom of Solomon, Baruch, and Maccabees, remain in the Catholic Bible. First Esdras, Second Esdras, Epistle of Jeremiah, Susanna, Bel and the Dragon, Prayer of Manasseh, Prayer of Azariah, and Laodiceans are not today considered part of the Catholic apocrypha.

With one exception, all of these books are considered 'Old Testament'. The apocryphal New Testament 'Letter of Paul to the Laodiceans', was once incorporated in many versions of the Bible. However Laodiceans is now considered just a pastiche of other Epistles, and is omitted from contemporary Bibles.

There are many other apocryphal books, which do not fall into the 'Deuterocanonical' category, such as the many additional New Testament Gospels, and the apocalyptic book of Enoch.

Book of Enoch, Read-Along Version - ENTIRE BOOK (R.H. Charles)

The book of Enoch is the truth and Jesus endorsed it; it is spoken about in the Old and New Testament. God said many times that his people are being destroyed by a lack of knowledge and they hued out broken cisterns that leak. They omitted the Book of Enoch but it is still the truth. The Jews omit Jesus Christ and will go a whoring after a false messiah while the world watches. Just because you do not believe does not mean that it is not true but it simply means that you do not believe and you are like the Jews. Enoch was so worthy that he was taken at the tender age of 365 yrs. a third of his life span.

First Book of Adam & Eve - Entire Book

The Book of Adam and Eve, also called The Contradiction of Adam and Eve or The Conflict of Adam and Eve with Satan, is supposedly a written history of what happened in the days of Adam and Eve after they were cast out of the Garden of Eden. The book is part of the extra-biblical pseudepigrapha and not part of the inspired Word of God.

The Book of Adam and Eve is believed to be the work of an unknown Egyptian writer, who first wrote the story in Arabic; eventually, the book found its way farther south and was translated into Ethiopic. Pinning down the date of the original writing is difficult, but many believe the Book of Adam and Eve was written a few hundred years before the birth of Christ. The first English translation of the book appeared in the 19th century.

Second Book of Adam & Eve

There is really nothing in the Book of Adam and Eve that can be verified or corroborated. It is not a “lost” book of the Bible but was never part of Holy Scripture. The Bible is our authoritative, God-inspired resource, not the Book of Adam and Eve or other works of fiction.

Are there Fallen Angels Imprisoned in Antarctica and are still Alive?

Published on Mar 14, 2017
The book of Enoch seems to reveal that the fallen Angels are still alive and may very well be in Antarctica. No wonder all that strange things that happen in this barren waist land. But what is more shocking is that Enoch reveals that the fallen Angels are still effecting events and men on the earth.
